Moretus — investment ideas, on the record
Published before
it’s obvious.
About twelve times a year we finish months of work on one idea — equities, crypto, macro, a mispricing wherever it sits — and send every member the full note at the same moment: the facts, our view, and what would prove us wrong. When we hold a position, page one says so.
Every idea announced the day it publishes. The name, 30 days later. Free:

The aim is alpha. Check the tape — the record is public and dated:
- Alibaba — “the un-investable”, Oct 2022
- Carvana — public call, Jan 2023
- Cardlytics — both directions, from Mar 2023
- Olaplex — public call, Apr 2024
- Viasat — “calling the bluff”, Nov 2024
Including the ones that ended badly. The archive here will hold us to the same standard.
[01] The product
One idea, taken seriously.
Written to be acted on, not skimmed. Each note is a single idea:
- Where consensus sits, and why we think it’s wrong
- The asymmetry — what’s priced in versus what we expect, and what would prove us wrong
- Our conclusion — act, watch, or walk away — and any position we hold, disclosed on page one
[02] How it works
Months on one idea
Cross-asset and uncorrelated by design — equities, crypto, macro, prediction markets. Fundamentals first, overlaid with the demographic and alternative-data signals our own pipeline surfaces.
A conclusion, not a rating
Own it at this price, wait for the trigger, or walk away. We don’t run coverage and we don’t maintain ratings — the note is finished, and any position we hold is disclosed on page one.
The decision stays yours
One send, all members at the same moment — no tiers, no early access. We bring facts and a view beyond consensus; you make the call, and the sizing.
[03] Membership
One membership. Every idea.
The research is sold one way: a seat. The first 150 are a numbered edition — pay once, and every note we publish reaches you the moment it’s finished, for as long as we publish.
From seat N° 151, membership is $1,000 a year, permanently. Seats are assigned in payment order.

Lifetime terms retire at seat 150[04] Questions
- What do I get?
- Every research note we publish — about twelve a year — delivered by email the moment it’s finished, plus the full archive.
- What kinds of ideas?
- Wherever our data gives us an edge: mostly equities, but also crypto, macro, and asymmetries surfaced by alternative data or prediction markets. Cross-sector and uncorrelated to any benchmark, by design.
- Do you buy every idea you publish?
- No — the research decides. Some notes end in a position, some in a watchlist trigger, some in a pass. Forcing a trade out of every note is how research shops go bad. When we do hold a position, page one says so.
- Do you signal when you buy or sell?
- No. Disclosure tells you where we stand on the day a note publishes — after that we don’t run alerts, exits, or a model portfolio. The research is the product; the decisions are yours.
- Is this investment advice?
- No. We publish the same research to every member at the same time and never advise anyone individually. Any position we hold is disclosed on the note itself.
- Why lifetime, then annual?
- The public record is older than this site; the archive here is new — it opens at idea N° 001. While it fills, membership is a numbered first edition: 150 seats on lifetime terms, pay once and read everything we ever publish. From seat 151, membership is annual, permanently — the lifetime terms retire with the edition.
- What if an idea goes against us?
- It stays in the archive with everything else. We never delete a miss — the archive is complete or it’s worthless.
- What’s in the free emails?
- The day an idea publishes: that it exists, and its shape — sector, size, direction. Thirty days later: the name and the public thesis. The full research note is members-only, always.
Members read it first.
Free subscribers hear about every idea the day it goes out, and get the name a month later. Members read everything the moment it exists.
